WHO WE ARE...
Tensas Parish has some of the richest agricultural land in the country, along with numerous lakes, bayous, and rivers. The fertile soils were formed as part of the Mississippi River flood plain. Although rich in history, wildlife and folklore, the parish has a relatively small population. I moved to Tensas Parish in 1977, and since, have actively participated in the
farming and ranching industry. My late husband, Jim Huff, and I farmed cotton, rice, and soybeans, and raised registered Corriente cattle, in Tensas and Concordia Parishes.

In 2015, I purchased property next to my home that had a portion of Buffalo Bayou, a once navigable waterway in south Tensas. Today, at Buffalo Bayou Land and Cattle, LLC, Ronnie Firmin and I raise Registered Red Brahman cattle, Quarter horses, and fiber goats and rabbits.
Using time-honored bloodlines, we are producing a quality herd of Registered Colored Angora goats. Mohair production, fiber quality and hardy nature in our Southern climate are three traits important to us, as well as maternal ability and gentle disposition. Our nutrition and genetics program provides a combination of a low micron count and a long staple length. Our high-quality mohair ensures excellent performance in spinning, weaving, and other fiber arts.
Our Angora rabbit wool is a truly exquisite fiber. Its unique qualities of softness and warmth make it an ideal choice for creating luxurious garments, accessories, and cozy items that provide both comfort and elegance.
